The short answer

The best THOME alternative is the Quadthera Titan ($1,100 with gel): four frequencies (1, 3, 10 and 19 MHz) versus The Glow’s 3 + 10 MHz, with a Titanium Grade 2 head. At The Glow’s $399 list price, the Quadthera MiniTitan (pre-order) offers 3, 10 and 19 MHz and a titanium head. glow.m’s Cryo Sonic Pro ($755 sale) also lists four frequencies plus cooling, and its Booster Sonic ($299 sale) uses the same 3 + 10 MHz pair as THOME. What THOME does that the others don’t list is voice-guided 12-minute sessions.

We haven’t tested these devices hands-on. Specs and prices come from each brand’s site, checked October 28, 2026. For the whole category, see the best at-home ultrasound device for face, or glow.m vs THOME head to head.

Where THOME lists two frequencies, Quadthera lists four (1, 3, 10 and 19 MHz) and publishes which ones each of its five modes uses, ending with Q Mode, its patented sequence through all four. The head is Titanium Grade 2; the maker, ECO DM LAB, holds Korean patent 10-2420176 for the multi-frequency probe. Quadthera says any water-based conductive gel works. Quadthera publishes a 4-week P&K Skin Research Center study of 20 people, commissioned by Quadthera (Quadthera results). It doesn’t list voice guidance. Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to THOME The Glow?
Our pick is the Quadthera Titan: 1, 3, 10 and 19 MHz across five modes with a Titanium Grade 2 head, at $1,100 with gel. THOME’s The Glow uses 3 + 10 MHz. At The Glow’s $399 list price, the Quadthera MiniTitan (pre-order) adds 19 MHz and a titanium head. glow.m’s Cryo Sonic Pro ($755 sale) also lists four frequencies and cooling.
How many frequencies does THOME The Glow use?
Two. THOME describes The Glow Signature as dual-frequency, 3 MHz + 10 MHz. Its Twenty Up ($249) uses the same pair.
Is THOME The Glow FDA-cleared?
No. THOME, glow.m and Quadthera ultrasound devices appear in FDA’s registration and listing database as Class I devices (product code ISA). That isn’t FDA clearance or approval.
Do THOME alternatives need THOME’s ampoules?
No. THOME recommends its own Boost Ampoules, but other ultrasound devices work over a water-based layer; Quadthera says any water-based conductive gel works with the Titan. See the best ultrasound gel.
Should I get microcurrent instead of an ultrasound device like THOME?
They work differently: microcurrent passes a small current you may feel; ultrasound has no current. See ultrasound vs microcurrent.
