The Best Anti-Aging Devices Over $500: What the Extra Money Buys
Spending more than $500 on a beauty device buys features, not necessarily better evidence. Here are the premium at-home anti-aging devices worth considering, what the extra money gets you, and when a cheaper device does the same job.

Before you spend $500+: what the extra money buys
A higher price usually buys more wavelengths, extra modes, attachments, app features or a premium build. It doesn’t buy stronger evidence. The technology with the most home-use research, red and near-infrared LED, is available in FDA-cleared masks well under $500, such as the CurrentBody Series 2 ($469.99) and Shark CryoGlow ($349.99); see the best LED face masks. A cleared RF device, the CurrentBody Skin RF, is $385.99; see the best RF devices. If you’re still set on a premium device, pick the technology for your goal first, then the device. Our guide to the best at-home anti-aging devices covers every price. We haven’t tested these devices hands-on; prices checked October 9, 2026.

CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask: Series 3
Red and near-infrared LED is the home technology with the strongest evidence, including a randomized, sham-controlled trial of a home mask (Park et al., 2025). The Series 3 adds blue, green and yellow light to CurrentBody’s red, near-infrared and deep near-infrared, with 750 LEDs and app presets for aging, blemishes and redness, and asks for 10 minutes, 3–5 times a week. CurrentBody says it’s FDA-cleared; the 510(k) we found that appears to match is K260715. Its $971.99 face and neck kit covers more area. If you only care about anti-aging, the $469.99 Series 2 has the core wavelengths.
TriPollar STOP Vx 2
RF is the home technology most associated with firmness. The STOP Vx 2 combines TriPollar’s Multi-RF with a temperature indicator and an Adaptive VIB vibration mode for the jawline, in sessions of about 9 minutes, 2–3 times a week for 6–8 weeks. It needs TriPollar’s gel ($59 refills) and a plug socket. It’s the only premium pick here with a money-back guarantee (30 days). TriPollar says it’s FDA-cleared, but we couldn’t match the model to a specific 510(k). Full details in our RF guide.
NuFACE TRINITY+ Complete Set
The Complete Set is the TRINITY+ with attachments, including a red light wrinkle reducer, for $595. The TRINITY+ is FDA-cleared (K201782) and the red light attachment has its own clearance (K212947). Microcurrent gives a visible lifted look that fades: Wirecutter’s testers saw it last from several hours to about a day (Wirecutter). If you don’t need the attachments, the $395 starter kit is the same device. Compare brands in NuFACE vs ZIIP and Medicube vs NuFACE.
Therabody TheraFace Mask
A full red, infrared and blue LED mask (648 LEDs; 633, 830 and 415 nm) with vibration massage around the eyes and head, cleared under K230293. The massage makes sessions more pleasant but isn’t an anti-aging feature, so you’re paying for comfort. At $649.99 it costs more than the Series 3. See our LED mask guide.
Quadthera Titan
The Titan is a different kind of premium device: non-focused ultrasound that sends low-intensity sound waves into the skin through gel, with no electrical current or light. It publishes all four of 1, 3, 10 and 19 MHz across five modes, and its build is premium: a Titanium Grade 2 transducer head, which Quadthera says it chose for acoustic conductivity, a hypoallergenic surface and durability, and a piezoelectric ceramic transducer covered by its maker’s Korean patent (KR 10-2420176). It works with any water-based gel (FORHERTZ gel included). In a 4-week P&K Skin Research Center study (20 participants, April 16–May 15, 2025, commissioned by Quadthera), the brand reports +32.2% surface firmness, +49.3% visible skin density and −44.8% pore depth (Quadthera results). It’s Class I listed with FDA, not FDA-cleared. It suits people who want a gentle daily routine aimed at hydration, texture and absorption.

Also considered
- FOREO FAQ 102 ($590). RF, EMS and LED in one cleared wand (K240616). FOREO’s results figures come from consumer trials. If you mainly want RF, the $390 FAQ 101 is cleared too (see our RF guide).
- Silk’n Titan MultiPlatform ($549). Bipolar RF plus low-level laser and infrared. We couldn’t match this model to an FDA clearance.
- Medicube RF Ultra Tune 40.68 ($530 regular, $350 on sale). Gel-free RF plus microcurrent; no FDA record found. Usually on sale below $500.
Who shouldn’t spend this much
- Anyone who wants the most evidence per dollar. An FDA-cleared LED mask under $500 gets you the core of what the research supports.
- First-time device buyers. You don’t yet know whether you’ll keep up a routine. Start cheaper, or buy where you can return a used device (TriPollar and NuFACE offer this).
- People expecting a facelift. No home device here lifts sagging skin like in-clinic treatment. See HIFU vs Ultherapy.
- People with medical contraindications. Electrical and RF devices aren’t for people with pacemakers or other implanted electronic devices, or during pregnancy; check each manual. See who shouldn’t use RF and devices for sensitive skin.
How we chose
We included devices whose current US price, or regular price, is over $500, and ranked them on evidence for the technology, regulatory record (a clearance we could verify by name ranks above a brand claim, which ranks above a Class I listing), what the premium buys over a cheaper device, and how easy it is to return. That’s why an LED mask leads overall and why the Quadthera Titan is our pick for gentle ultrasound. See how we evaluate.
